Michelle McCarthy is the artist that creates the beads, pendants, finished jewelry and functional pottery in her home studio, located in Port Charlotte, Florida. She uses white and terre cotta low fire clay. She also works in buff stoneware and porcelain, both midfire temperature clays. Michelle uses press molds, rubber stamps, cookie cutters and hand forming to create her beads and pendants. Then the first kiln firing turns the clay into bisque. Michelle then paints and glazes the bisque. Every bead and pendant is hung on special racks in the kiln for a second firing which turns her little creations into art!
You can find Michelle's artwork at the Arts Alliance of Lemon Bay and Ivy's Attic, all in Englewood, Florida. Also in Punta Gorda at the Visual Arts Center. Browse her Etsy shop and "Like" her Facebook page for up to date news and specials!
